- The colour pallet is there because I'd intended to do a more detailed colour job on the character but decided not to since the overall style is cartoony, and I wanted to get the picture done quickly so I could post and get feedgback on the overall design. I don't get what you mean by "afro" though. As for your other question, it is meant to be a cartoon. You know, as in bold lines and exaggerated features, that kind of thing.
